The

story behind…

everything we make is 100% gluten free

…the puddings

Christine's Puddings was born in 2008 as a tiny business selling Christmas Puddings after attending a small food event in our home town,

we fell in love with food festivals and now our range has grown.

I founded Christine's Puddings out of a deep love for good gluten free food, that can be enjoyed by everyone, even those not on a gluten free diet.

Christine's story…

  • Being a Coeliac for over 45 years I am pleased to say that the selection of food available to a Coeliac has come a long way from cardboard biscuits, bread in tins, and fruit salad. These plain and basic choices motivated me and kick-started Christine's Puddings.

My mission – To make delicious and tasty puddings and tarts for all to enjoy

14 years on after making my first Christmas pudding, I have my pudding room overlooking the beautiful Blackmore Vale and River Stour in deepest, darkest and delicious Dorset, baking and making a wonderful range of gluten-free, award-winning, delicious sweet and savoury tarts, pastry, and of course everyone’s favourite sticky toffee pudding.

Over the years we’ve been fortunate to have won many awards nationally and regionally and most recently another gold from the Taste of the West and another 1 star from the Great Taste Awards for our festive Christmas puddings.

All the puddings and tarts are made with love and care and you could easily forget that my products are gluten-free which must mean my mission is complete… but I will not stop there, I will continue to bake wonderful delicious gluten-free puddings and make it my goal that you’ll never be offered just a fruit salad again.

…why the Ladybird?

I inherited my love of baking from my Grandad, who was a professional baker. He always wore a ladybird pin in his hat and this is why I use a ladybird image for my business.

My Grandad's original ladybird pin came from a charity called Pestalozzi Children's Villiage Trust.

Between 1959 and 1965 the Pestalozzi ladybird logo captured the imagination of the British public and during those years started to change the lives of eighty three children from Europe and Tibet.

Our Awards…

  • 2022 – Cherry & Pecan Christmas Pudding – Taste of the West Gold. All the aromas you would expect from a Christmas pudding – warming. Christmas in a bowl!

The judges thoroughly enjoyed this pudding and one in particular, who isn’t a massive fan of Christmas puddings, loved it.  Nice and light in texture but with plenty of oomph with flavour and inclusions!

It is packed with fruit, nuts, and lovely pudding.  Every mouthful is interesting with a good contrast of textures.  Very good mouthfeel with every bite being more and more interesting.

Rich, dark and moist looking.  A lovely looking pudding; appears to be packed with fruit.

A wonderful flavour, full of delicious fruit and nutty goodness with a lovely balance of Christmassy spices.  A wonderful pud!

  • 2022 – Mini Mince Pies – Taste of the West Gold. Wonderful. Buttery pastry. Lots of fruit and spice. Christmas in a bite! Would have no clue these are gluten free.

Christine's Frangipane Tart – wins another award!

An attractive individual tart. The gluten free pastry is crisp,
and the balance of raspberry and almond is right. This is an impressive example of a gluten, wheat and dairy-free product.

and also Christine's Sticky Toffee Pudding wins an award

Both these products were entered into the main non gluten free categories, so it was great to see that they got awards for 'taste' rather than just being gluten free.
